Abstract
The present investigation aimed to study soil supply¬ing power of phosphorus and potassium under variable con¬ditions of soil texture, amendments, and nutrient applic¬ation by using intensive cropping system; namely: alfafla and ryegrass as indicator plants. A number of chemical methods were also used to evaluate plant nutrient extrac¬tability.
Three pot experiments for each of phosphorus and potassium were conducted in the greenhouse to fulfil the general goals of this investigation. The study was made on two different surface soil samples collected from Assiut Governorate representing, sandy calcareous and clayey soils.
