Abstract The rate of brucella infection among the different species of animals in Assiut Governorate was estimated by serological examination of animal blood sera using Rose Bengal plate test (RBPT) and tube agglutination test (TAT) as well as milk samples using brucella ring test (BRT). br The evaluation of the three serological test pointed out that the Rose-Bengal plate test is the most superior and reliable test for detecting brucella reactors (1.76%) than the tube agglutination test (1.72%) and the brucella ring test (0.86%). br The results of our investigation indicate that the highest incidence of brucellosis detected was in pigs (3.66%) followed by camels (202%) dogs (2%), goats (1.98%), buffaloes (1.88%), cattle (1.7%) and lastly sheep (0.84%). On the other hand, no positive reactors were found among equines. br The results of the tube agglutination tests on the sera of the different species of the examined animals revealed that 43 (1.72%) were positive reactors with a titre ranged -#102;-#114;-#111;-#109; 1/40 up to 1/1280. The sero-agglutination titres below the reactor level (up to 1/20) were observed in 61 (2.44%) blood sera of the examined animals. br Surviellance data in our study indicates that brucellosis was more frequently occur among private cattle, buffaloes and sheep than those |
