The study aimed to Develop a program for teaching geometry to hearing Impairment students, Identify the effect of using the proposed program for teaching geometry on the achievement of hearing Impairment students and on the enhancing the geometrical skills.
The sample of the study consisted of 44 students of hearing impairment Seventh grade from Al-Amal School. And it used the following tools: An achievement test in the specified unit of geometry, a geometrical skills test and an observation card for observing the geometrical skills performance.
The study attempted to answer the following questions:
1. How would be the proposed program for teaching geometry to hearing Impairment seventh graders?
2. What is the effect of the proposed program for teaching geometry on the achievement of hearing Impairment seventh graders?
3. What is the effect of using the proposed program for teaching geometry on enhancing the geometrical skills of hearing Impairment seventh graders?
The following results were reached to:
(1) There was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of both the control and the experimental groups in the achievement test in favour of the experimental group, (p>0.01).
(2) There was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of both the control and the experimental groups in the achievement test, level of memorizing in favour of the experimental group, (p>0.01).
(3) There was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of both the control and the experimental groups in the achievement test, level of comprehension in favour of the experimental group, (p>0.01)
(4) There was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of both the control and the experimental groups in the achievement test, level of application in favour of the experimental group, (p>0.01)
(5) There was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of both the control and the experimental groups in the geometrical skills test in favour of the experimental group, (p>0.01)
(6) There were statistically significant differences (p>0.01) between the mean scores of both the control and the experimental groups in each of the geometrical skills in the observation card in favour of the experimental group.
(7) There was a statistically significant difference (p>0.01) between the scores of whole sample in the total of the observation card in favour of the experimental group.
(8) There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of both the control and the experimental groups in rapidity in favour of the experimental group regarding in the total of the observed skills in the observation card (p>0.01).
(9) There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of both groups in precision regarding the total of the observed skills in the observation card in favour of the experimental group (p>0.01).
(10) There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the control and the experimental groups in regarding mastery performance in favour of the experimental group in the total of the observed skills in the observation card (p>0.01).
