Abstract Electrochemical behaviour of mild steel in aqueous acidic solution of 0.5M HCl and 3.5% NaCl solution in absence and presence of the three different inhibitors .One of them is acrylamide monomer ,the other two inhibitors are Polyacrtlamide and Poly 1- N- acryloyl – P aminobenzenesulphonic acide. The corrosion behaviour of mild steel in the absence and presence of the inhibitors was investigated by weight .loss and potentiodynamic using different concentration of inhibitors at different temperatures . The thermodynamic activation parameters were calculated for both technique and the data are comparable. The experimental results obtained from both weight loss and polarization measurments for mild steel electrode obeyed the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The inhibition efficiencies of the three inhibitors in both 0.5M HCL , 3.5% NaCl have the following order : PNA>PAM>AM The values of Ea and Ha in the inhibited solutions( 0.5M HCL and 3.5% NaCl ) obtained by the two techniques weight loss and polarization methods are higher than the uninhibited solutions |
