Abstract

Freshwater fish can significantly supplement the worworl’s supply of dietary protein, although they now form only 15% of the total fish protein used for human consumption. Tilapia, trout and carp are the major three groups of freshwater fish species now in cultivation Tilapia is a member of a Very large family cichlidae abounding in africa including madagascar and extending to Syria india and ceylon in asia it is known also in central and south america.
