Abstract

Responses of canola (Brassica napus var. serw4)
vegetative growth, yield attributes and chemical composition to
three irrigation intervals (irrigation every; 11=5, 12=7,13=9days)
, three nitrogen fertilizer rates (Nl=30, N2 =45, N 3=60 kg N
fed.”) and three potassium fertilizer rates (K1=40, K2= 50, K3=
60 kg K20 fed.”) in 200712008 and 2008/2009 winter seasons.
Were investigated at Experimental Farm, (FEAS), El-Arish,
Suez Canal University, North Sinai Govemorate.
Results showed that water stress exerted a significant
impact on growth and yield parameters of canola plants.
The highest mean values of plant height, number of racemes
and leaves per plant and number of days to the 50% flowering,
racemes/plant, siliqua/plant, yield/plant and weight of 1aaa-seed
as well as seed yield were found when canola plants irrigated
every 7 days, while the highest seed oil content was obtained
when canola plants exposed to water stress (12). Most of yield
components and seed yield were enhanced with nitrogen and
potassium fertilizer application up to 45 kg Nand 50 kg K20 per
feddan, respectively. The highest seed oil content and lowest
seed protein content were obtained when canola plants were
fertilized with N2 and K3treatments.
from this study, maximizing canola yield under North
Sinai conditions can be obtained by irrigating canola plants
every 7 days and fertilized by 45 kg Nand 60 kg K20 fed-I.
