Abstract The present work, was carried out on 224 dogs with signs of prostatic diseases. In addition we sought to record different prostatic diseases in dogs and to determine the different means of diagnosis with special regard to the ultrasonographic guided needle biopsy as a confirrnatlve diagnostic tool. LJCh clinical case was subjected to a full study including the followtng: 1 -History of the case. 2 -The comm..m clinical symptoms as changes in urination and defecation, presence of spontaneous blood dripping from the penis, abdom inal pain, posture of the animal, presence of perineal hernia. ) 1-Rectal palpation. ,. -Urine and blood analysis. ) -Survey ..md contrast radiographical ex..rmination, 6 -Ultrasonographic examination. 7 -Uttrasonographlc guided-needle biopsy. 8 - His tepa tho logical, cytological and bacteriological exam inations of all biopsed samples. 9 - P.\’. examination of euthanized and dead cases. 10-Treatment of all diseased cases by different means. The results of the present study can be summarized as follows: Benign prostatic hyperplasia . constituted the higher incidence among prostatic diseases 65.2% while intraprostatic cysts were 18.3%. Prostatitis was low in incidence 8.1 %. Paraprostatic cysts, the mixed group (intraand- paraprostatic cysts) and prostatic abscesses were very low in incidence. |
