Abstract The present work was divided into two main parts; experimental and clinical. The experimental studies were carried out on 75 clinically healthy adult animals (5 buffaloes, 5 cows, 5 horses, 25 donkeys, 6 sheep, 6 goats and 21 dogs). In addition 24 fresh and 25 formalinized head and neck specimens were subjected to a full anatomical studies of different salivary glands and their ducts. The clinical studies were performed on 18 clinical cases suffering from different salivary gland affections. Moreover 25 clinical cases having a swellings at the head and neck were subjected to a differential diagnostic studies. The experimental part was again divided into 6 groups. Each group dealing with the followings: group 1. Surgical anatomy of the salivary glands and their ducts. group 2. Sialography. group 3. Studies on different methods of surgical correction of experimentally induced parotid duct fistulae. |
