Abstract The thesis has examined the life of Moore and any possible autobiographical influences on her poetry. Moore is a modern American poet whose life and upbringing affected her work. Moore never saw her father. She was also affected by her strictly religious upbringing imposed on her by her family. Her close friendship with her mother and brother Warner, affected her literary writings. Her studies at Bryn Mawr affected her choice of subject-matter, including her various references to classical art, biology, fashion, social behaviour, and religion |
