Abstract
This study done to determine the percentage of smokers in health care workers in mallaway district and to determine smoking profile in this group despite of knowing the hazards of smoking, and motives of smoking in this group. The total number of the health care workers in mallawy district were (790) 21.13 % of them were smokers. The smokers were 167 included in the second stage and fill a detailed questioner. The study found that smoking prevalence of health care workers in mallawy district was 21.13%, among doctors 23.8%, among nurses 15% , among laboratory technician 37.8% and among radiology technicians 35.8%.
