Abstract This work studied anti-thrombinIII in 20 patients with childhood solid tumors, 7cases of neuroblastoma, 5 cases of rhabdomyo-sarcoma, 5 cases of Wilmۥs tumor, and 3 cases of osteosarcoma. Their ages ranged between 1 year and 15 years old, 12 were males and 8 were females. Variant manifestations were in the form of bleeding tendency, bone-ache and Liver failure manifestations. These manifestations was increased at diagnosis and disappears after induction of remission. In some cases, B.T shows significant increase at diagnosis which return back to normal level after induction of remission. Significant increase in PT and PTT at diagnosis return to decrease significantly after induction of remission. Significant decrease of ATIII at diagnosis and before starting chemotherapy return back to normal at complete remission(C.R.) Significant increase of ATIII at C.R. in comparison with level at diagnosis before chemotherapy. As regard liver functions (albumin) showed significant decrease of serum albumin at diagnosis compared to control and significant increase of it after induction compared to at diagnosis . |
