Abstract The present study was carried out to investigate the effect of chronic cadmium administration on the submandibular salivary glands of albino rats at both the light and the electron microscopic levels. Twenty adult male albino rats were used. Rats were divided into two groups each contained ten rats. Group I: Rats were subdivided into two subgroups. Subgroup I A: That contained two control rats, injected subcutaneously with distilled water every other day for two weeks. Subgroup I B: That contained eight experimental rats, inJected subcutaneously with CdCl2 (3 mg/kg) every other day for two weeks. Group II: Rats were subdivided into two subgroups. Subgroup II A: That contained two control rats, injected subcutaneously with distilled water every other day for four weeks. |
