Abstract
Eighty female albino rats were divided into four equal groups. The first 3 groups were expo$ed to 0.5 - 1% fluothane in 6 liters oxygen for 3 hours daily for 60 day inafe” to 3 females) at the 60th day of exposure. The”female” of group 1 were kept under the same treatment, and thos, of group 2 were kept without treatment until they were sacrificed at the end of pregncne y, The females of the group 3 were left without treatment for 30 days, then allowed to get pregnant and killed at the end of pregnancy. Ten rats of group 4 (control) were allowed to get pregnant with group 162 and the other 10 with group 3. The percentage of pregnancies for groups 1,2 and 3 were 5, 80 and 100% respectively. br>Macroscopically, female rats of group 1 showed, atrophied ovaries, congestion and haemorrhage in uterus, heart and’ brain. Also liver and lungs were friable, pale in colour and emphysematous.
