Abstract
Despite the importance of the availability of resources for any project, human resources are very important. A project manager in the Engineering projects is the most
important factor of the project success factors.
Therefore, it is required to have an effective method of project manager selection according to standard criteria.
This thesis is intended to develop standard criteria for selection a project manager by analyzing project manager job.
A workshop has been conducted with the participation of 12 project managers and
a questionnaire has been formulated and delivered to target respondents of 22 project managers in order to verify the results.
The workshop and questionnaire results determined 7 duties & 62 task of a project manager job and the general knowledge and skills required to be in a project manager.
Moreover a complete interview guide has been developed to be used in the selection process.
