Abstract This study tests the effectiveness of a proposed program based on integrated language instruction in enhancing communicative oral skills of Al-Azhar post-graduate students (heralds & tutors). The sample consisted of sixty heralds in all. It was randomly divided into two groups, experimental and control. They were all graduates from Faculty of the Principles of the Religion and Dawa. Al –Azhar University, Zagazig branch. Being experimental in design, the two groups, and the pre-post tests design were adopted. In the light of the theoretical framework and the review of related literature, various instruments were developed: a structured interview, two questionnaires, one is about situations and roles which might face the caller, the other is about communicative needs needed for the caller, a listening comprehension test and a speaking test. |
