Abstract
Liver transplantation is avaluable alternation to patients with irreversible end stage liver disease. Improvement in out com and decrease in morbidity and mortality have been achieved through improved surgical techniques and donor organ preservation. Anesthesia for liver transplantation is complex and challenging. The patient with end stage liver disease frequently is in a state similar to that found in septic shock. Stages of liver transplantation operation.
1-recipient hepatectomy.
2-an hepatic phase.
3-reperfusion phase.
As, slowly the risks of transplantation decrease so the spectrum of the patients accepted was extended. The future will include developing further techniques that will inhace donar organ availability. gene therapy trials are under way using virals vectors.
