Abstract

This present study was conducted to compare between the effects of some antimycotoxins such as: Hydrated Sodium calcium alumino silicate, MTB-100, and yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) in conc. of 10kg/ton and 1kg/ton ration on performance of broiler chickens, weight of some organs, some biochemical parameters, as well as some histopathological studies.
The experiment was carried out on 210 one day chicks divided into six groups each contain 40 chicks. The chicks were rare in a complete block design, provided with wheat straw, plastic feeders and water troughs. The chicks were fed on started ration for the first three weeks and then on a grower ration for the next three weeks and the water was provided ad libitum.
The six dietary groups were:
(1) Group 1 (negative control ):
Received basal diet with aflatoxin concentration 20 ppb.
(2)Group 2 (positive control)
Received basal diet containing aflatoxins at rate of (40ppm).
(3) Group 3:
Received aflatoxin containing diet (40ppm) with Stavro® at dose of 1kg/ton.
(4) Group 4:
Received aflatoxin containing diet (40ppm) with MTB100® at dose of 2 kg/ton.
(5) Group 5:
Received aflatoxin containing diet (40ppm) with yeast probiotic (Saccharomyces cervisiae) at rate of 10 kg/ton.
(6) Group 6:
Received aflatoxin containing diet (40ppm) with yeast probiotic (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) at rate of 1kg/ton.
The chicks in all groups were weighted at beginning of the experiment then weekly, also feed consumption, body weight, body weight gain , feed conversion ratio and feed efficiency were calculated weekly for each group. Also organ and carcass were weighted.
Five birds were selected randomly from each group and slaughtered every week, blood samples were taken, centrifuged and the serum collected for further biochemical examination.
Organs were fixed in 10% neutral formalin for further histopathological examination.
The result showed that lower feed intake in all treated groups than +ve control group, in the same time MTB-100 treated group showed higher weight gain and higher final body weight compared to controls groups and other groups. Also group received yeast probiotic 1kg/ton ration showed high weight gain than others groups. In the 6th week of age the MTB-100 treated group showed higher carcass weight compared to other groups, in the same group there were decrease in liver, kidney heart and spleen weight compared to other groups and maintain size of bursa and thymus around normal values.
The present study indicate that MTB-100 , yeast probiotic 1kg/ton ration has protective effect on broilers received diet contaminated with aflatoxin, and decrease adverse effect of aflatoxin on immune system of birds.
Histopathological study reveals low pathological changes in the livers and kidneys of MTB-100 treated group and yeast 1kg/ton, and confirmed by serum biochemical tests as it showed low levels of AST, ALT, uric acid and creatinine.
