Abstract This research is aiming to detect the value of nonstandard antibodies in autoimmune hepatitis as prognostic markers in children. This study included 20 children with autoimmune hepatitis selected from Hepatology Specialized Clinic, Pediatrics Hospital, Ain Shams University and from Prof. Dr. Yassin Abd El-Gaffar Hepatology Charity Centre. They were 14(70%) females and 6(30%) males their ages ranged from 3 to 17 years. All patients included were subjected to; detailed history taking, thorough clinical examination, laboratory investigations including complete blood count, liver function tests including serum ALT, AST, total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, prothrombin time, serum albumin, and serum protein electrophoresis, abdominal ultrasound, liver biopsy, measuring levels of serum anti-chromatin antibodies and anti-soluble liver antigen antibodies for all patients. |
