Abstract One of the most important factors that can influence the outcome, such as the pregnancy rate, after in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is selection of embryos for transfer. However, the increased probability of ICSI pregnancy has come at the cost of multiple gestations. So, efforts were directed to search for methods to predict which embryos have the greatest potential for implantation, so that the least number of quality embryos can be transferred to maintain high pregnancy rates. from here emerged, the idea of evaluating the role of follicular fluid (FF) insulin – like growth factor – II (IGF – II) as FF marker with which to predict oocyte maturation and subsequent embryo development. |
