Abstract

Quality of life is defined as a subjective assessment of physical mental, social functioning and well being. It has consequently become an important outcome for public health and clinical medicine. Now the impact of chronic diseases in terms of quality of life is increasing, and hepatitis C is one of these diseases in which there is an increasing evidence of impairment of quality of life even at the time of diagnosis.Hepatitis C JS a worldwide problem which affects approximately 180 million people. In Egypt it is considered one of the most common causes of chronic liver diseases. Quality of life researches are of growing interest nowadays due to increased number of chronically ill patients and the impact of chronic diseases OD physical, social, psychological, and spiritual domains of QOL.
The study concluded that QOL is impaired in hepatitis C patients, so they need comprehensive care, they don’t only need medical care but they need as well more psychological and social support.
