Abstract This research suggests an experimental model taking into account the effect of both axial load and cyclic lateral loading to investigate the behavior of square reinforced concrete fixed columns. This model can substitute the shacking table set-up and is able to represent the actual behavior of columns which is mainly curvature; plastic hinges formation and shear failure modes. The dimensions and reinforcement of studied specimens were analyzed by using a non-linear computer program, P.C-ANSR, to get straining values up to failure and to ensure safety of loading stubs during test. The program takes into account the effect of both geometric stiffness and material non-linearity |
