Abstract The main objective of this scientific research is studying characteristic of SCR device and its performance under radiation fields as a control element in dc motor control circuit. Two groups of SCR`s were investigated. Two irrdiation sources were used; CO60 as a sources of gamma ray with dose rate of and 5.211kg and 1.5 MEv electron beam accelerator. An extensive study has been carried out on SCR as a control element by using a semicondutor parameter analyzer before and after exposure to irradiation process. Modeling of SCR was used in dc motor control circuit which indicates the induced photo-current in SCR mrads. The starting of the motor operation, the conduction angle and its delay time were investigated. In dc motor control circuit an equivalent circuit was designed with two transistors and a variable resistance to act as a resistive compensator to the value of radiation dose. |
