Abstract
This study was conducted in the National Liver Institute ; Menoufiya University in the time interval from October 2006 till July 2008. Fifty patients with liver cirrhosis and ascites complicated by Hepatorenal syndrome type I were enrolled in this study after obtaining their consent.
These patients were equally divided in number into two main groups (25 patients each) according to the regimen of therapy given(whether Terlipressin or Octreotide ) to treat hepatorenal syndrome after its diagnosis.
They were further classified within the same groups according to Child-Pugh criteria. Among those patients there were 47 patients that would fit into the Child C category, while 3 patients would fit into Child B category .from those 43 were males & 7 were females.
