Abstract This thesis begins with a literature survey of quinoxalinone, benoxazinone, benzothiazinone and pyrazolo-pyridazinone derivatives concerning their methods of preparation and biological activites. The present study describes the preparation of certain new heterocyclic compounds with potential biological activites as anti-inflammatory and antibacterial agents. The anti-infammatory activity was evaluated for all the new synthesized compounds using yeast-induced paw edema mrthod in rats, some of them showed encouraging activity in comparison to indomethacin as a reference. Also six of the synthesized compounds were tested for their antibacterial activity using agar cup diffusion method. All of them showed significant activity against Escherichia coli. |
