Abstract This study included 50 female patients complaining pf palpable breast lumps. They attended to the general surgery department of el-minia university hospital over a period of 16 months starting from May/1996 to August/1997. the mean age of these patients was 41.84 (range 17-65) years. The mean size of their breast lumps was 3.4 (range 1-6)cm. each breast lump was subjected for both fine needle aspiration cytology and surgical biopsy for routine histopathologic examination. Smears obtained by fine needle aspiration were fixed by air drying and stained with May-grunwald giemsa staining technique. |
