Abstract
The one-step silver technique has recently found several applications in diagnostic and research histopathology. The numbers of Ag NORs within nuclei of hyperplastic and malignant cells is indicative of their proliferative activity. In several reports investigating Ag NOR counts in endometrial lesions, significant differences have been noted between functioning endometrium, hyperplastic endometrium, and endometrial adenocarcinoma. from this study it could be concluded that : silver nucleolar organizer regions technique is useful in the differentiation between benign and malignant lesions of the endometrium. Ag NOR rechnique is helpful in conjunction with morphological characteristics in differentiation between severe atypical hyperplasia and endometrial adenocarcinoma.
