Abstract The aim of this study is to evaluate the sensitivity and accuracy of estimation of serum total bile acids as a liver function test in cases of hepatitis, chronic cholycystitis, obstructive jaundice and hepatoma this study was conducted from December, 1991 till February, 1993. in el-minia university hospital. In conclusion , our data demonstrate the superiority of sensitivity and accuracy of post-prandial total serum bile acids over the conventional liver enzymes in cases of hepatitis, obstructive jaundice and hepatoma groups. While in chronic cholycustitis, the most sensitive and the most accurate test is AST. |
