Abstract The cytoskeleton is a complex system of dynamic filaments which underlies all manifestations of cell movement. It is composed of a network of unbranched linear filaments of undeterminate length with varying diameter of their cross sections and could be classified into: 1-Microfilaments: of about 6nm diameter formed of actin protein. 2-Microtubules : of 24nm diameter formed of tubulin protein. 3- intermediate filaments: (if) about 8- 13nm diameter and it may be formed of one or more type of the following proteins according to the type of tissue: - Cytokeratins . – Vimentin . –Desmin. – Neurofilaments. –glial fibrilary acidic protein. |
