Abstract The aim of this work was to assess the role TNF- , IL-10 and the adhesion molecule ICAM-1 in the pathologensis of RA by comparing their levels in serum of RA patients with those of the controls, comparing their serum with synovial fluid levels, correlating their levels with clinical and laboratory parameters of disease activity, and by correlating these parameters with each other. Forty Egyptian patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and 10 normal controls were included in this study. All patients were subjected to full clinical examination and medical history. They were classified according to the disease activity (MDGA) using the multivariate analysis (Malya and Mace, 1981). No patient was in grade I, 12 patients were in grade II (group A), 18 patients were in grade III (group B) and 10 patients were in grade IV ( group C). |
