Abstract

The aim of this work is to determine the level of transferring, fructosamine, albumin, fructosamine/ albumin ratio (F/A ratio), fructose and total proteins in the seminal plasma of fertile and infertile men. Correlation of the level of these substances with each other and with certain semen parameters is another aim of the work.
The following results were obtained:
1- There is significant positive correlation between seminal plasma albumin and sperm motility in normospermic subjects and in infertile subjects with oligoasthenozoospermia.
2- The level of seminal plasma albumin is lower in cases of obstructive azoospermia compared to the normal fertile subjects or to those with functional azoospermia.
3- Seminal plasma albumin levels showed significant positive correlation with fructosamine levels in seminal plasma in functional azoospermic patients only.
4- The mean differences of HSP total proteins were significantly lower in all infertile groups except group 2 (oligoasthenozoospermia) compared to group 1 (control).
5- There is significant positive correlation between HSP total proteins and albumin in both functional and obstructive azoospermia.
6- There is significant positive correlation between HSP transferring and the count of sperms in normospermic subjects, oligoasthenozoospermic infertile subjects and in subjects with isolated oligoasthenozoospermia.
