Conclusion: from this study it can be concluded that hypertension and diabetes mellitus are common among obese parturient compared to non-obese mothers. More post date deliveries are observed in obese mothers. Therefore obese pregnant women should have good antenatal care with search for hypertension and diabetes. The duration of pregnancy should be accurately to detect post term pregnancy with good management of these cases. The incidence of caesarean section is high in obese parturient due to increased incidence of large size babies. Early detection of feto-pelvic disproportion early in the course of labour is recommended for obese pregnant women. |
