Abstract

The aim of the study is:
First: to evaluate the incidence of pelvic adhesions after laparoscopic ovarian electrocautery in patients with PCOD.
Second: to assess the efficacy of located Ringers solution (a commonly used adjuvant) in prevention of postoperative adhesions.
Third: to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of a2 mm mini laparoscope in comparison with the standard 10 mm laparoscope.
from this study we conclude that:
1- Adhesions formation after laparoscopic electrocautery of the ovaries is the rule rather than the exception. However, inspite of these adhesions the tubes were patent.
2- Lactated Ringer’s solution reduced the adhesions in cases where it was left.
3- Mini laparoscope is as accurate as the 10 mm laparoscope in diagnosis of pelvic adhesions.
