Abstract Aim of the work To measure the variations in the serum level of IL-6 and TNF in adequate number of children suffered from bacterial dysentery (shigellosis) with control in EL-Minia governorate. Conclusion The results of the present study showed that: 1- A very high significant increase in serum TNF in children with shigella during acute attack when compared to normal controls. 2- A significant increase of serum IL-6 in children with shigella during acute attack when compared to normal controls. 3- A very high significant increase in serum TNF in children with shigella during acute attack with increase severity of the disease (with colitis) when compared to without colitis. 4- A very high significant increase in serum IL-6 in children with shigella during acute attack with increase severity of the disease (with colitis) when compared to without colitis. |
