Abstract Hydrodissection By using a balanced physiological solution to separate the nucleus from the cortex layers. Removal of the nuclens - Manual removal. - Automated removal by phacoemulsification. Removal of the cortex - Manual irrigation/ Aspiration. - Automated irrigation/ Aspiration. Phacoemulsification: By transforming a cataract into emulsion thus making aspiration possible through a small incision using cavitron/ kelman phacoemulsifior, the advantage is small cataract surgery incision. Finally the difficulties which facing the surgeon during E.C.C.E. have been discussed and its management which including: 1- Maintenance of anterior chamber during E.C.C.E. and phacoemulsification. 2- Maintenance of the papillary dilatation during the procedure. 3- Rupture of the posterior capsule. 4- Opacification of the posterior capsule. |
