Abstract Hepatic fibrosis is a complex process characterized by excessive accumulation of extracellular matrix proteins in which hepatic stellate cells (Ito cells) play a key role. The aim of this study is to determine the effects of simvastatin (HMG-CO A reductase enzyme inhibitor) and losartan(angiotesin II receptor blocker ) on hepatic fibrosis induced in rats by bile duct ligation. ١-The use of simvastatin alone in liver fibrosis worsen the condition. ٢-The use of losartan alone in liver fibrosis showed good improvement in the hepatic fibrosis . ٣-The use of simvastatin plus losartan in liver fibrosis showed very good improvement. |
