Abstract The purpose of this investigation was to study experimentally the behavior and inner slab-column connections in which the slab is reinforced either Glass Fiber Polymers (GFRP) or traditional steel. The experimental and analytical investiga behavior and the strength of an interior slab-column connection were carri presented herein. The experimental study involved testing of Nine-Half Scale slab-column conn connections had the slab reinforced with traditional steel and six were reinforced bars. The test specimen’s general dimensions were as shown in Figs. 3.1 and Table 3 details of the tested connections. The •column stubs of all connections were cast mo with the slabs and reinforced with traditional steel as shown in Fig. 3.4. The variable parameters studied in this investigation were: 1- The slab reinforcement type, Traditional steel and GFRP reinforcement 2- The slab reinforcement ratio, for the traditional steel and GFRP reinforcement rati 3- The column side to slab depth ratio, slab thiclmess. 4- The column rectangularity ratio. A critical review of the literature concerning the behavior and strength of an inner sI connection was presented in Chapter 2. The details of the test program including details and the characteristics of test manufacturing of the test specimens, process . of inStruIiientation and loading discussed in Chapter 3. |
