Abstract This study was carried out in the soil science department of the faculty of agriculture, Mania University to evaluate and compare three materials amendments for newly reclaimed sandy soils in EL-mania governorate. The first materials are local non organic natural deposits in EL-mania governorate (shale’s). The second is a local organic material, which is a by product of sugar industry in EL-mania governorate (filter mud). The third material in a synthetic polymer produced in West Germany (cresol). This study was designed to find out the possibilities of using These amendments for improving chemical properties, fertility and productivity of new reclaimed sandy soils The studied soil was treated with both shale’s and filter mud at four rates of application (5, 10, 15 and 20 ton/fed.), and with cresol at the rates of 1,2,3, and 4 ton /fed . |
