Abstract The aim of the present study is to investigate some factors that govern phosphorus mobility and, consequently, availability and supply to plant. For this reason, four soils representing the most important types of arable land, and future agricultural extension were chosen. The investigated soils differ in their clay, and ca co3contents. Total, organic and inorganic phosphorus were determined together with four conventional phosphorus availability parameters which included water soluble P(after bingham) NaHCO3 extractable P (by olsen ), saloid NH4 CL extractable P . The P adsorption characteristics of the soils were studied by either fitting P adsorption date to the langmuir linear type isotherm, or by finding the slope of the curve relating anion- resin extractable P to the equilibrated P concentration values signifying capacity of soil P were calculated from both approaches. |
