Abstract The study in this thesis i oonceiied with the synthesis of severa]. N,N—disubstituted thiourea derivatives, potential anticancer agents, and with their cyolodesul— tion into various haterocyclic derimtivea. In add.i— tion, several potential alkylating agents containing ben— ziinidazole and benzothiazole nuclei have been s3rnthesised. he studies are presented in four parts as follows: PLRT Four new thiourea derivatives namely: N.-Butyl-.N’-.(2-.biphenyl)thiourea (II). N-Fhiyl—N ‘(2bipheny1) thioures (III). N-in-Tolyl—N ‘—(2—biphenyl) thiourea (Iv). N-o—Methoxyph anyl —N ‘— ( 2-.biphenyl) thiourert (v). and two reported ones namely: ll-p—Chlorophenyl..N ‘—(2—biphenyl)thiourea (VI). N-Benzyl.J ‘(2—biphen3rl) thióurea (VII). have oen synthesised from o—arninobiphenyl (I) and alkyl, aryJ. and aralicyl iothiooyanatos according to established |
