Abstract Solar uv photons, in conjunction with asemi-conductor catalyst, were used as arenewable energy source to motivate destruction of some complicated and /or toxic pollutants in water effluents.by fast separation of charge carriers from Tio2 semi conductor particles, redox chemical reactions could attack polluting impurities converting them to simple less harmful products that can be treated by conventional methods. Thus, photo-chemically catalyzed electronically-excited oxidation of some dyestuffs and atoxic chemical material were investigated with in the scope of the present work. Asemi-pilot plant with a 1.8 m tubular photo-reactor and aparabolic trough staill less steel sun –light concentrator was designed and installed in the solarlal of the minia engineering faculty.A complete line of continuously circulating in fluent was arranged by incur porating necessary facilities, connections,instruments and controlling devices. |
