Abstract

The aim of this work is to delineate the detailed structural features affecting Bahariya section of Meleiha-NE oil field using the available seismic reflection data and to determine the different reservoir parameters characterizing the pay zone utilizing well log data. In addition, the core data of studied pay zone are analyzed utilizing several statistical methods and coordinating them with the different log parameters. Finally, the reservoir characteristics are presented using 3-D modeling.
Meleiha-NE oil field is located in Meleiha concession, 6 km northeast of Meleiha Field and 60 km south of Matruh Town. Bahariya Formation is the main producing horizon in Meleiha concession.
The available seismic data are composed of 3 D seismic sections. Thirty-four seismic sections are utilized in this investigation. This seismic grid constitutes a detailed coverage of about 127.5 km total length. The seismic sections in the study area are classified into two sets: 21 sections in the dip (N-S) direction and 13 sections in the strike (E W) direction. Together, they form a closed grid.
Logging data of 23 wells and core analysis results of Bahariya Formation in NE-2X, NE-5 and NE-16 wells are used for evaluating the petrophysical parameters and hydrocarbon potentialities of Bahariya Formation. The used data are obtained and licensed from Agiba Petroleum Company
