Abstract

The present work is a detailed stratigraphical, paleontological, statistical and shell wall microstructure of the Upper Cretaceous sections exposed at wadi sudr Area, Western Sinai, Egypt. Stratigraphically, four surface sections were studied, the first one that of Gebel Somar, the second at Gebel Sinn Bishr, the third at wadi El-Mohasham and the last one at Abu Snafa. The four sections represent the lower senonian (Matulla Formation) and the Upper Senonian (Sudr Formation). The Senonian successions are subdivided into five biostratigraphic zones. The proposed biozones are arranged in an ascending order as follows:1-oscillopha dichotoma-pycnodonte (costeina) costei zone.2- pycnodonte (costeina) costei zone.3- nicaisolopha lyonsi-pycnodonte (phygraea) vesiculare.
