Abstract The objective of this study was to determine the effect of energy concentration on the performance of laying hens of a local (Fayoumi) and a foreign commercial breed (Hiline). Three energy levels for faoumi 2615,2794 and 2987 kcal./kg and three others for Hiline 2682,2888 and 3076 kcal./kg were formulated. Diets for each breed were isonitrogenous being 13% for Fayoumi and 16% for Hiline. Feeding trials using both breeds were conducted to determine the ME of each diet and the nitrogen in order to calculate the N-corrected ME |
