Abstract
Aim of this work Is to provide a comprehensive review about the ECMO including:
Indication, Mechanism of action, Types, Associated risk conditions ECMO is a procedure that acts as artificial heart- lung machine to take over the work of lung and sometimes the heart the primary rationale for ECMO wes to provide a safe ventilatory /cardiac support i.e. obviating the traditionnal ventilator induced lung injury as barotrauma .systemic infection...etc.
