Abstract
The present thesis deals with potentiometric and polarographic determination of the formation constants of the complexes formed between toxic non-essential metal ions e.g. Cd(II),Pb(II) and La(III),and essential metal ions e.g. Zn(II),Ca(II),Cu(II) and Fe(II) and four of semi-synthetic cephalosporin antibiotics(Cephalexin, Cefadroxil, Cephaloridine and Cefoperazone) as well as the polarographic determination of the metal ions mentioned previously with six Cephalosporin (Cephalexin, Cefadroxil, Cephaloridine, Cephapirin, Cefuroxime and Cefoperazone) which,are selected from the first, second and third generation groups, have been also investigated in pure forms. where, it has been suggested that the presence of metal ions in biological fluids, could have a significant effect on the therapeutic action of drugs.
