Abstract Phosphorus is one of the main limiting nutrients for primary production and also, is the main nutrient responsible for increasing eutrophications. It occurs in seawater as dissolved inorganic ortho-phosphate. The present thesis is concerned with the acid-base equilibrium of phosphoric acid derivatives (Na2HPO4,KH2PO4and H3PO4), as well as the effect of some different ions. The media used were the components of seawater (NaCI, KCI,Na2SO4 and synthetic seawater) and some heavy metals (Co, Cu and Zn) in different concentrations, at different temperatures (15-35oC with 5oC interval). This work was applied in seawater of El-Mex Bay (west of Alexandria). |
