Abstract Insulin plays an important role in regulation of the intermediary metabolism of carbohydrates, protein, lipids and minerals, the jormone also acts as a growth and maintenance factor for cells in culture. It also enhances the synthesis of DNA and RNA. On the other hand, hyperinsulinemia and insulin resistance has been found to be associated with obesity, hypertension, atherosclerosis and many cardiovascular disorders. Therfore, the present study aimed to investigate the effect of hyperinsulinemia on homeostasis of some blood and liver biochemical prameters in adult male albino rats. |
