Abstract

This investigation was carried out during two successive seasons (2005&2006) on mature Star Ruby and Red Blush grapefruit (SSCIAcid ratio 5:l-5.5:l). Fruits were picked in the0 early morning from a private farm at Tahrer area Badr city, Behera, Governorate. Fruits were packaged in plastic boxes and immediately transported to the Handling fruit laboratory, Hort. Res. Institute, Giza Governorate, Egypt. In the laboratory fruits were washed, dried, waxed, packed in carton boxes and packed in0 ventilated polyethylene bags. The fruits for each cultivar were divided into four groups0 and conducted for the following treatments: 1- Directly cold quarantine treatment at O°C and 90-95 % RH I (control).0 2- Cured for three days at 20°C and 90-95% RH followed by cold0 quarantine treatment at OOc and 90-95% RH. 3- Cured for six days at 20°C and 90-95% RH followed by cold quarantine treatment at OOc and 90-95% RH.0 4- Cured for nine days at 20°C and 90-95% RH followed by cold0 quarantine treatment at OOc and 90-95% RH.0 I Fruit samples for each treatment were sorted to determine the Physical and chemical changes in grapefruit fruits at 10 days intervals during cold quarantine period.
