Architectural identity occupies a large area in the thought of those who are interested in architecture. It is regarded one of important architectural issues which headed the conservation activities of the distinctive character of the old cities. The city of Mukalla is regarded one of many Yemeni cities which lost much of its identity and its architectural features specially its tourist buildings which came as a replica of the western patterns. Those western buildings are not in harmony with the architectural identity of traditional buildings. How ever this process affected the overall shape and consistency of the visual perception for the Yemeni feature.
