Abstract
The present studies on queen bee quality were carried out in two directions; (a) comparison among pure honeybee races and their intercrosses and (b) genetic investigations on the progeny of Carniolan queens artificially inseminated with semen of one Carniolan, one Italian and one Egyptian drones.
